Private Tree By-law Attributes Survey

The Municipal Act gives the Town of Halton Hills the authority to enact a by-law to prohibit or regulate the destruction or injuring of trees. The by-law can include different attributes or features to provide flexibility in how it is applied and administered.  The private tree by-law must contain statutory clauses to meet provincial requirements and align with the Region of Halton Tree By-law 121-05.  

This survey includes a range of common attributes included in municipal tree by-laws in southern Ontario. Please select the attributes you support most to help staff prepare three different draft by-laws of varying flexibility for presentation to Council.
